By default Supermicro server fan is very loud. I tried to change FAN mode in BIOS or in IPMI console, it's not work. It is still very noisy, even I have reboot server. Finally, I found the issue, It should reset ipmi console, the FAN mode will work corectly.
STEP 1: Select FAN Mode
Go to Configuration -> FAN Mode, Select "Set Fan to Optimal Speed"
STEP 2: Reset IPMI
Go to Maintenance -> Unit Reset, Click "Reset". It will reboot IPMI web console service, and it won't reboot server. After re-login to web console, you can feel FAN speed slow down, and It's not too much noisy.
